Vocational Rehabilitation Centre for the Mentally Challenged

The Vocational Rehabilitation centre was started in October, 1998. More than 48 mentally challenged people attend the vocational training programme. We render training in khadi spinning, agarbathi and phenyl making, paper bag manufacturing and production of liquid soap and handwash, Music and handicrafts are taught at the centre. Besides, regular physiotheraphy sessions and intelligence and memory enhancing techniques are imparted.

Ayurbandhu – Dialysis assistance project
|
Inaugurated on 12th July 2008 by Sri A.K. Balan, State Minister for Electricity and SC/ST Development. The scheme offers financial assistance to patients suffering from renal diseases, to undergo dialysis. One dialysis at the concessional rate costs Rs.500/-. For one month, the treatment for a patient will cost between Rs.4000 – 8000 depending on the number of dialysis needed. Our aim is to provide financial help for atleast one dialysis a day, in the first year of the scheme. Later, as we go down the expansion process, more facilities will be provided, depending upon, the fund availability.
